Fast Forward

What is Fast Forward?

There are 5 sessions per semester. (Dates are listed on the registration form attached)

Where are the sessions held?

All sessions are held at Crews Middle School.

Who teaches the sessions?

Master teachers from this cluster and around the county familiar with the grade level AKS

Who can attend the sessions?

Anyone in grades 6-10 who would benefit from previewing AKS in a small group with hands on instruction
(**Note: there are some 5th graders taking 6th ACC math at the elementary schools. They, too, are welcome to register for the 6th ACC sessions...in the past, these students thrived on the extra enrichment opportunity)

Is there a fee?

Yes, $75 for all 5 sessions; students who register after the first session pay a prorated fee of $15 per session remaining
Checks should be made payable to CREWS MIDDLE SCHOOL
There are a limited number of scholarships available (contact Debbie Taylor for approval)

Purchasing a Graphing Calculators (Please click here for information on Calculator Rental).

The following are suggustions made by the math department in purchasing a graphing calculator.

It is imperative that every student in Alegbra II or above have access to a graphing calculator in the classroom, as well as at home.

We recommend the Texas Instrument 83 or 84 (any version). If your student is interested in taking a statistic course in the future the TI-84 would be a better choice.

TI-92 are not allowed in any classes.
TI-89 are allowed in Calculus classes only.
TI-85 & 86 are OK but not as user friendly.
