The purpose of the Science National Honors Society is to encourage students to participate in extracurricular science activities such as Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, etc. Through their participation, students will excel in the pursuit of science knowledge. Science National Honor Society also encourages participation in community service related to science such as tutoring of other students.
In order to be a member of Science National Honor Society, students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing as well as excel in the field of science. Some of the requirements include, but are not limited to, B+ (88.0) average in all science courses,
3.0/4.0 overall GPA, enrollment in at least one Gifted/Honors or AP level science class during or prior to the eleventh grade year. A member must be enrolled in at least one AP level science class during the twelfth grade year or must have completed two AP level science classes prior to the twelfth grade year.
