Bylaws of the Brookwood High School “Speak Out Organization”
ARTICLE I: NAME AND AFFILIATIONS
Section 1: NAME. The name of this organization shall be the “Brookwood High School Speak Out Organization.”
Section 2: AFFILIATIONS. N/A.
ARTICLE II: OBJECTIVE AND POLICY
Section 1: OBJECTIVE. The objective of Brookwood High School Speak Out is to create a healthy environment in which students of varying races, ethnicities, and religions can co-exist and learn from each other to produce a more educated understanding of underlying issues.
Section 2: POLICY. This organization encourages students to discuss their opinions openly in a respectful and productive manner.
ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
Section 1: The membership of the Brookwood High School Speak Out Organization shall be open to any student of Brookwood High School.
Section 2: The Brookwood High School Speak Out Organization shall not restrict membership based on any personal characteristics.
ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS
Section 1: DEFINITION. The elected officers of this organization shall consist of two president representatives of the “Speak Out” organization.
Section 2: PRESIDENT. The duties of the President shall be to uphold and enforce the provision of these Bylaws; to represent the Brookwood High School Speak Out Organization; to organize and administer the organization; to schedule and preside over all meetings; to call special meetings when necessary; to conduct external communication; to guide and coordinate officers in their duties; and to represent the organization before outside organizations and persons, and at conventions and official functions. The president shall be able to appoint new offices as necessary.

Section 4: QUALIFICATIONS. N/A ( N/A until 2017)
Section 5: ELECTIONS. (N/A) (N/A until 2017)
ARTICLE V: MEETINGS
Section 1: MEETINGS. The regular meetings of the organization shall be held once a month.
Section 2: QUORUM. All of the Active members shall be required for binding action on the business of the organization.
Section 3: SPECIAL MEETINGS. A special meeting may be called at the discretion of the Presidents. Decisions made at specials meetings will be binding provided that a reasonable notice was given to all Active members, and both presidents are present.
ARTICLE VI: GOVERNMENT
Section 1: AMENDMENTS. These Bylaws may be amended by a two-third vote of a meeting when notice of the amendment is given at the previous meeting. When no previous notice is given, any amendment may be affected by a three-quarters vote of a meeting.
