I love that art is a universal language that can be challenging, thought-provoking, and aesthetic. I set high expectations for each and every one of my students and push them to grow as an artist and thinker. I believe that every student can find success in the art classroom, whether it's developing divergent thinking skills, learning to approach problems with a creative solution, or refining their artistic skills.
After graduating from Brookwood in 2006, I went on to Georgia Southern University where I was a member of the Honors Program and received my BFA in Drawing. Then, I completed my Master's in Art Education at The University of Georgia. My first three years of teaching were at Franklin County Middle School in Carnesville, GA where I taught art to 6-8th grade students. As a Brookwood High School Graduate, I strive to uphold the "Tradition of Excellence" that brought me back to teach at BHS in 2015.
